Aprender Inglés Dublín

I’m going to finish my English course this week, after i’d been studied for 6 months in the city of Dublin, I’m really pleased with the progress that I’ve had with the language.

But it doesn’t end here, because the school gives you the option of studying during one year, it consist in 6 months of classes and 6 months of holidays, this time you can travel around Ireland, Europe or as in my case, a mix of all of them and to work full time, currently I’m working part time, so I will be in contact with people on the street and this help me to improve a few things …

Therefore it is one “see you soon”, because maybe after these 6 months i’ll renew in my English school for a specialized course for the presentation of a specific test.

So far the experience has been amazing and it’s going to… thanks for joining me this whole time, I’ll miss you a lot …

Esta semana termino mi curso de ingles, después de haber estado estudiando durante 6 meses en la ciudad de Dublin, realmente estoy muy complacida con los avances que he tenido con el idioma.

Pero esto no termina aquí, porque la escuela te da la opción de estudiar 1 año que consta de 6 meses de clases y luego 6 meses de holidays, donde te puedes dedicar a recorrer Irlanda, viajar por Europa o como en mi caso, una mezcla de todo y a trabajar tiempo completo, ya que actualmente estoy trabajando medio turno, así estaré en contacto con la gente en la calle y terminaré de perfeccionar algunas cositas…

Por lo tanto esto es un hasta pronto, ya que quizás luego de estos 6 meses renueve en mi escuela de inglés para hacer un curso especializado para la presentación de una prueba especifica.

Hasta ahora la experiencia ha sido increíble y así lo seguirá siendo, gracias por acompañarme todo este tiempo, los voy a extrañar mucho…

No podía irme sin antes mostrarles un monumento importante en la ciudad de Dublin, se trata del Spire, viviendo y estudiando en Dublin es imposible pasar por desapercibido el punto de encuentro de miles de habitantes en esta ciudad.

La semana pasada el clima en la ciudad de Dublin estuvo estupendo, tuvimos varios días soleados, donde podías ver las calles abarrotadas al igual que los parques.

Yo luego de mis clases de inglés aproveche estos días para correr por la costa de Sandymount, un lugar hermosos que les recomiendo, y para pasear un poco por la ciudad.

I had a little accident working as staff in a pub, don’t worry nothing serious, it was the first time that i used the medical service in Dublin.

The first thing that I did was ask for information about the procedure in my English School, because as students, we have an insurance policy, but only you can use it if the medical expenses exceed to 100 Eur, otherwise if it is considered less than this amount but it is an emergency, you can go to the hospital nearest your home or go to the doctor to do an analysis and to refer you to the hospital.

In my case first I went to the doctor, for more information about it HERE. The care was excellent, there referred me to the nearest hospital at St. James, the hospital is huge and has all the specialties and equipment.

En estos días por un pequeño accidente que tuve en mi trabajo como staff en un pub, usé por primera vez el servicio médico en Dublin.

Lo primero que hice fue informarme en la escuela de inglés acerca del procedimiento, ya que nosotros como estudiantes tenemos una póliza de seguro, pero solo la puedes utilizar si los gastos médicos exceden de 100 euros, de lo contrario si se considera que es menor a este monto pero es una emergencia, puedes ir al hospital mas cercano a tu residencia o ir al médico de cabecera para que sea el quien te remita al hospital.

En mi caso fui primero al médico,  para mayor información AQUÍ. La atención fue excelente, allí me remitieron al hospital mas cercano, al St. James, el hospital es enorme  y posee todas las especialidades y equipos necesarios.

Realmente puedes estar tranquilo estudiando en Dublin, ya que cuentas con un buen servicio medico y excelente atención.

One of the most anticipated festivals in Ireland is the celebration of St. Patrick’s day, this happens every year on March 17 in commemoration of St. Patrick, patron saints of Ireland, which celebrates the coming of Christianity to the country.

Investigating a little more of this interesting story, I could find that Patrick was born in Britain, at the age of 16 he was kidnapped by Irish invaders and taken captive to Ireland as a slave. After few years he escaped and went back to their land and quickly he joined to the church and studied to become a priest.

Years later he returned to Ireland as obizpo to Christianize the native Irish of polytheism (religion or doctrine that asserts the existence of many gods).

The Irish Folklore says that one of the methods of teaching at St. Patrick includes the shamrock to explain the Christian doctrine of the Trinity to the Irish.

                                                                  

After nearly thirty years of evangelism, he died on March 17 of 461, and according to the tradition, he was buried in Downpatrick. Although there were many other successful missions, Patrick endured as the central figure of Christianity in Ireland and he is estimated for the Irish Church.

This year the big party was held from 17 to 19 March, it was celebrated in the city of Dublin with many special events, the most expected was the parade, this took place on Saturday 17, which was characterized by great excitement and people wearing some green representing those days, it was spectacular living with my classmates of the English course.

Una de las fiestas más esperadas en Irlanda es la celebración de St. Patrick’s day, esto ocurre todos los años el 17 de marzo en conmemoración de St Patrick, patrón de los santos de Irlanda, donde se celebra la llegada del cristianismo al país.

Investigando un poco más de esta interesante historia pude encontrar que Patrick nació en Gran Bretaña, a la edad de 16 años fue secuestrado por invasores Irlandeses y llevado en cautiverio a Irlanda como esclavo. Al tiempo este escapa regresando a su tierra y rápidamente se une a la iglesia y estudia para ser sacerdote.

Años después regresa a Irlanda como obizpo para cristianizar a los Irlandeses nativos de su politeísmo (religión o doctrina que afirma la existencia de varios dioses).

El Folclore Irlandés dice que uno de los métodos de enseñanza de St. Patrick incluye el trébol para explicar la doctrina cristiana de la Trinidad a los Irlandeses.

Después de casi treinta años de la evangelización, murió el 17 de marzo de 461, y de acuerdo a la tradición, fue enterrado en Downpatrick. Aunque hubo muchas otras misiones exitosas, Patrick se sostuvo como la figura principal del cristianismo en Irlanda y se le tiene una gran estima en la iglesia irlandesa.

Este año la gran fiesta se realizó del 17 al 19 de Marzo, celebrándose en la ciudad de Dublin con muchos eventos especiales, el más esperado fue la parada, este tuvo cabida el sábado 17, el cual se caracterizó por una gran algarabía y personas usando algo de color verde en representación de estas fechas, fue espectacular vivir esto con mis compañeros de clase del curso de ingles.

The times I have had the opportunity to live in another city different than I was borned, I like descover their trends, culture and their people, so when I lived in Barcelona, ​​I discovered many things that enriched me as a person. Now that I’m doing my English course in Dublin I feel curious to know beyond of this culture.

This time I’m going to comment you about some street markets, which are in most important tourist area in Dublin, Temple Bar, for me these are very interesting and they are an alternative for shopping also it helps you to interact more with the Irish people instead if you going to a supermarket or a store.

Temple Bar Food Market

The Temple Bar Food Market, it takes place every Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, the location is: Temple Bar Hotel, 13 Fleet Street, here you can find different types of foods like fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices, seafood of excellent quality among other things, for more info HERE.

Designer Mart

The Designer Mart takes place every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm at Cow Lane, located in the old Temple Bar, this outdoor market showcases the best of handmade art and design produced by artists Irish, you can find everything from jewelry, clothing and art in general, more information HERE.

The other one is The Book Market:

For me the most interesting, it takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, located in Temple Bar Square, there you will find a small but perfect haven for lovers of literature and music fan, for more information HERE.
